• Client: Katy Trail Animal HospitalBehind The Scenes: Working from a detailed layout. I shot each subject individually and positioned him on set based on what was drawn. But in the end, I let the models do what made them feel most comfortable on the set. (The little black and white kitten went straight for the back of that chair.) When I put everyone together, I made my picks based on the best poses from my talent.
  • Client: Southwest SpiritBehind The Scenes: We ordered a custom styrofoam cake, with fake icing, to totally support this little chihuahua. Fortunately for us, he was comfortable right on the very top of all three tiers!

Behind The Scenes: The only problem I had here, was getting this cat to do anything but hide deep inside our very soft and comfortable slipper bed.

  • Client: Southwest SpiritBehind The Scenes: This star performer, tabby cat Rushmore, had an agent and a trainer that came with him. He was completely comfortable in his chair and not the least bit bothered by all the lights and activity in the studio.
  • Client: Hooray For The Underdog!Behind The Scenes: Poodles are one of my favorite breeds to shoot. So elegant, smart and accommodating. If we had attempted to put this very fragile, vintage blue feather on a Jack Russell Terrier, it would have been torn into a thousand bits and pieces within minutes.
  • Client: Vet's BestBehind The Scenes: I’ve found cats to be some of the most difficult creatures to photograph. Just getting them out of their carrier, when they arrive at the studio, can sometimes be so daunting, that we normally book double what we need in cat talent for each shot. This job was no exception. Positioning kitty in the perfect place took way longer than we expected.

Behind The Scenes: As you can imagine, we never got this cat to look at the fish at the right time. I ended up shooting the goldfish separately and photoshopping the two best poses together.

Behind The Scenes: There’s something so charismatic about Bull Terriers! This little lady was just incredible on set. She never left her position, and we literally could not get a bad pose from her!
  • Client: Dog N Kitty CityBehind The Scenes: This was a pro bono job to help raise money and awareness for a local no kill shelter. These two rescues were a bonded pair who lived together. That’s how I got this great pose from them. Sometimes you need the real thing to get the right chemistry on set.
  • Client: SPCA Of TexasBehind The Scenes: Pro Bono job for a bus campaign. We even raised the money to pay for this ad to run on thirty buses throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. Invited everyone we knew with an adopted dog into the studio and made picks based on who looked most like their best friend.

  • Client: Dog N Kitty CityBehind The Scenes: This was a collaboration with one of our favorite animal lovers, gorgeous Kim Dawson model, Candy Frisbee. Always donating her time and talent to raise money for local shelters, she’s the reason this job was so well-received. I don’t believe there’s a dog or cat out there that Candy isn’t crazy about.
  • Client: Southwest SpiritBehind The Scenes: Another one of my favorite breeds to shoot are Jack Russell Terriers. So charismatic and full of life, they never fail to amaze me with the fun they stir up in the studio. Our great idea was to make the bride’s headpiece to her veil out of dog biscuits, the groom loved that idea & self treated whenever he got the chance.
